Since 2009, Leora Caylor has led Renew Worship, the community of worshippers, writers and musicians at Island ECC in Hong Kong alongside her husband Jeff. Together, they have worked to write music that inspires, encourages and empowers believers of all ages to wholeheartedly engage with God in spirit and in truth. They believe that there is significance in writing original worship songs that capture both the heart of God + what God is uniquely doing in their community and in Asia. Renew Worship is characterised by a full sonic landscape, versatile sound, electronic influences and lyrics creatively founded in scriptural truth.
On March 8, 2015, their second worship album Home reached #1 on iTunes in Hong Kong only hours after its release and remained in that position for over a week. Home, featuring 10 original songs, also charted in the top 40 Christian albums in both the US and UK. In addition to writing and collaborating on 8 of the 10 tracks on Home, Leora worked with her husband Jeff to produce and arrange the album in its entirety from their home studio, skills they've fined tuned over years of producing music and collaborating with other artists.
Unveil My Eyes, the final track on the Home album, was featured in a music video directed by Ricky Nyhoff and overlays scenes from Hong Kong with a story about shifting perspectives.
Evergreen, their third project with Renew Worship was released in December 2016 and featured original songs and arrangements themed around the holiday season. This EP also reached #1 on iTunes in Hong Kong and remained in that position for several days.
In 2012, Leora and Jeff Caylor turned a longtime dream into a reality with their Hong Kong based duo The Weathering. The pair have created their own brand of dream pop, full of romantic, ethereal imagery and unique melodies.
In February 2013, The Weathering released their self-produced, debut album The Sea Cares for Its Own (available on iTunes) to critical acclaim. Their first music video featuring the song December Lights, filmed creatively in the seaside village of Shek O, gained broad exposure and caught the attention of several print, radio and television outlets in Hong Kong and overseas.
Say It Again, their second studio project, was released in November 2016 and songs from this EP were performed at Clockenflap, Hong Kong's premier music festival featuring artists from around the world.
They are currently back in their home studio working on music and collaborating with other artists, with a special focus on television and film, and will be releasing new songs in 2017.
