Leora Caylor, currently based in Hong Kong, is a singer-songwriter, worship leader, musician and founder of the lifestyle and wellness brand The Wildery. Originally from Texas, Leora moved to Asia in 2009 after spending nearly two years in Sydney, Australia where she served as a musician with Hillsong Church and contributed as a violinist for the albums This Is Our God (2008) and Faith + Hope + Love (2009).
She and her husband Jeff Caylor are currently the Directors of Worship for Island ECC, an international, English speaking church in Hong Kong. In 7+ years, they have taken their passion for songwriting, worship and community and worked with their growing team to release three albums of original music as Renew Worship. On March 8, 2015, their second album Home reached #1 on iTunes in Hong Kong only hours after its release and remained in that position for nearly two weeks. Home, featuring 10 original songs, also charted in the top 40 Christian albums in both the US and UK. Evergreen, their latest project was released in December 2016, and also reached #1 on iTunes in Hong Kong.
In 2012, Leora and Jeff also turned a longtime dream into a reality with their Hong Kong based duo The Weathering. The pair have created their own brand of electro/dream pop. In February 2013, The Weathering released their self-produced, debut album The Sea Cares for Its Own (available on iTunes) to critical acclaim. Their first music video featuring their song December Lights, filmed creatively in the seaside village of Shek O, gained broad exposure and caught the attention of several print, radio and television outlets in Hong Kong and overseas. Their second project, Say It Again, was released in November 2015 and songs off this EP were performed at Clockenflap, Hong Kong's premier music festival featuring artists from around the world. They are currently back in their home studio collaborating with other artists, with new music expected to be announced in 2017.
In 2017, Leora will also be combining her interests in wellness and holistic living in The Wildery. With her background and training in health and wellness, she'll take the concept of re-wilding to Hong Kong, and her mantra, "Well-being for your whole being", will emphasize her focus on the whole person: mind, body and spirit.
